Positive Agilitydog Team Sports Mackay Inc.

PATS Mackay is an ADAA agility club which was formed in the Mackay District of Queensland Australia based on the ideal of positive training and a friendly and supporting environment for dog and handler. The original intention of PATS Mackay was to begin the running of ADAA agility competitions in the Mackay area starting in 2008.

At this stage PATS Mackay is simply developing the infrastructure to facilitate the running of ADAA competitions as planned. There is also an intent to run self-help agility training from time to time in 2008 and seminars whenever posible. There are also social gatherings planned, video nights, email updates, an agility events calender, email forum, and other projects.

At this stage PATS Mackay does not offer regular training and likely will not for some time, although hopefully some more training workshops can be arranged in 2008. The long term aim of the club will be to run a regular training program.

Agility Dog Association of Australia Ltd. (ADAA)

ADAA is the umbrella organization under which clubs such as PATS and TOADS operate. The goal of ADAA is to promote international style agility for all dogs, purebred or not. Like other bodies, such as the USDAA, ADAA is a member of the International Federation of Cynological Sports (IFCS) which has the goal of development of cynological sports on the international level and its integration to the international sports system and the Olympic movement. Competitions organized by PATS Mackay are run under the rules of ADAA. Any dog, whether purebred or not, which is 18 months or older may register with ADAA and compete in ADAA events.

ADAA Rules and Regulations can be perused on the ADAA rules and regulations page and the ADAA competition rule book can downloaded from that page. You can also download the ADAA rule book directly from here. Adobe Reader required.
